Established in 1851, Meyers started out as a stagecoach stop, trading post and Pony Express station. The town is a registered California Historical Landmark called “Yank’s Station” named after Ephraim “Yank” Clement who purchased the station in 1859. Today we know it as Meyers, named after George Henry Dudley Meyers who bought the station in 1873. The post office was built in 1904 but homes around the area weren’t developed until the 60’s.
